The Tracer 275 Alloy remains the workhorse of Intense's trail bike fleet, sporting playful geometry and plenty of travel to smooth out the rough stuff. The frame is still handbuilt at Intense's Temecula, CA factory, giving it that extra boutique touch. Even still, the price is quite competitive considering it's a USA-made frame. Utilizing proprietary hydroformed tubing, the Tracer 275 is built tough to take on as much punishment as you can throw at it. Suspension travel is adjustable between 140mm and 160mm (5.5" - 6.3"), allowing you to fine-tune your ride setup.
Intense understands that there are a multitude of drivetrain options for this style of bike, so they fitted the frame with a CNC'd 73mm BB/ISCG '05 unit as well as a high-direct mount front derailleur tab. 1X, 2X, and 3X drivetrain setups are all possible on the Tracer. As with the rest of Intense's new bikes, the Tracer 275 utilizes their latest bearing and pivot axle system. The lower pivot uses two alloy oversized main axles with expander cones to insure tightness. Bearing maintenance is a breeze since the frame is equipped with grease ports. Regular maintenance will result in excellent bearing longevity. The frame is fitted with internal dropper post routing, compatible with posts such as the Rock Shox Reverb Stealth or KS LEV Integra.
We've had a few rides on the Tracer 275 Alloy, and it's always been a bike that urges you to cut loose and have a good time. It's an absolute ripper on the descents that's lively enough to pop around and be playful. The bike generally builds up around 30 pounds, so it's not exactly a breeze on the climbs, but it gets the job done. If you don't have room in the budget for the flaghship carbon bike, the Tracer 275 Alloy is a fantastic choice, and won't leave you feeling like you're missing out on something better.
The Tracer 275 frame comes stock with a Cane Creek DB Inline rear shock, a 12x142mm Syntace bolt-on rear axle, and a FLK:GRD downtube protector. As with all aluminum Intense bikes, the Tracer 275 is backed by a three year warranty.
