The DHX2 is Fox's latest coil damper, designed from the ground-up for the gravity crowd. The DHX2 is the evolution in Fox's long heritage of downhill suspension, now offering separately adjustable high/low speed compression and high/low speed rebound via a recirculating high flow oil damper. Fox worked hard to improve responsiveness on the DHX2, and has introduced a new valving system that provides a more seamless damping transition when absorbing small-to-large impacts. This system results in quicker response, more control, and less harshness.
New for 2017, Fox has implemented the new X2 Lever, a two-position compression switch that effectively offers open and firm settings. The switch affects both high and low speed compression. In the firm setting, the shock will be much stiffer, better for climbing. Naturally, the open setting will be best for descending.
To maximize the ride characteristics and performance of this shock, Fox recommends their super lightweight steel (SLS) spring, to be used in conjunction with the DHX2 rear shock. These high-grade steel springs are competitive in weight to titanium springs at a fraction of the price. A proprietary surface treatment and stress relief process removes residual stresses from the spring, allowing them to withstand higher stresses. Each spring is optimized by using a smaller wire diameter and less coils, creating a lighter spring.
Please note, mounting hardware is sold separately and SLS spring sold separately.
