Fox Racing Shox DHX2 2-Pos Factory - Metric Trunnion - 2021
The Fox DHX2 is back again for 2021 and this year it has been redesigned from the ground up with the feedback from the previous model years in mind. This gravity-oriented shock still offers the same excellent small bump compliance and traction you have come to know and love, but now boasts an improved damper and all new shock body.
At first glance you’ll notice an entirely new chassis for this shock, with an independent climb switch. Whereas before it simply bumped up your low-speed compression, and was in fact an afterthought, it is now purpose-built to keep you high in your travel as you climb.
With enduro-style, long travel bikes becoming more popular, Fox has also shortened the piggy-back oil reservoir to make the shock more compatible with a wide range of frame layouts, including tucked-away designs like Santa Cruz’s lower link VPP and the Forbidden Druid.
You’ll also notice that the high-speed rebound knob has been moved to the lower eyelet. This results from Fox introducing both a high-flow main piston and incorporating their Variable Valve Control technology into the high-speed rebound circuit. They’ve also matched the Grip2 damper’s eight clicks on both HSR and HSC, to give you a better benchmark in adjusting your suspension.
The ground up redesign of the DHX2 still uses the same SLS springs as previous models, but uses a new full spring collar and C-clip to hold the spring to the shock. The addition of an indented preload collar stops the spring from undoing itself and ensures that everything stays in place even when running minimal amounts of preload. A new damper shaft with an ultra-low friction chromoly finish makes it the smoothest and most durable shock Fox has to offer.
