Fox brings back the 36 platform for 2017, offering the same fantastic performance and features we came to love on the 2016 model.
The tried-and-true RC2 damper offers the most external adjustability, with separate high/low speed compression, and low speed rebound. For those who desire the highest level of tuning, the RC2 damper will be the best option. Overall suspension feel and responsiveness on the RC2 forks will be the best Fox has to offer. If you're primary focus is based on descending performance, the RC2 damper is for you. If you're more concerned with climbing performance and eliminating any bobbing while pedaling, read on about the FIT4 damper.
Talas Adjustable Travel
The Talas feature provides two-step adjustable travel between 130mm and 160mm. Simply turn the crown-mounted Talas dial to the short travel setting, and push down on the fork. This setting is ideal for climbing when you need to keep the front end lower. Flip the lever back to the long travel setting, and you're ready for action.
Other Details Fox employs a convertible axle system on the 36 RC2 series forks, allowing you to utilize either 15mm or 20mm bolt-on axles. Both axles are included. This gives you ultimate flexibility in front hub/wheel options. The 36 forks with the FIT4 damper employ a 15mm QR axle, non-convertible. Since the 36-series Fox forks are targeted towards the more aggressive crowd, they opt for a 180mm post mount disc brake tab, meaning the smallest rotor you can with this fork is 180mm. Magnesium lowers, aluminum top crown, and an aluminum steer tapered steer tube keep weight down to a competitive level. As with all Factory Series Fox forks, the 36 Float utilizes Fox's famous Kashima buttery smooth coating on the stanchions. This fork is backed by Fox's limited 1-year warranty.
