GT is Back
Born in SoCal in the early ‘70s, GT has been at the forefront of BMX and then mountain biking since their beginnings. With their release of the Force (and it’s big-wheeled, shorter travel brother, the Sensor), GT has their sights set on the upper echelon of performance and capability. 2019 ushers in a new era of bikes for GT. Clean lines, all-new suspension platform, and dialed geometry come together to show these bikes mean business. And did we mention the value? The Force offers astounding performance and ride quality at a fraction of the price compared to the competition.

May the Force be with you
The new Force takes a tried and true four bar linkage and combines it with smart design, gorgeous lines, and sensible geometry. 150mm (5.9”) of rear travel combined with a 160mm fork, along with berm ripping 27.5” wheels makes this bike ready for your next enduro race or your upcoming trip to the local bike park. The flip chip in the lower shock mount allows you to drop the head angle from a comfortable 65.5 degrees to a race ready 65, which also pushes the chainstays and wheelbase a few more millimeters for added stability and confidence. Take two minutes to flip the chip back and you’re ready for a cruisy ride at the local trails. While the Force is designed around a 160mm fork, you can opt to go up or down 10mm in that department pending your preferences. Want to knock another half degree of that head angle and get wild? Toss a 170mm fork on there and go rally the bike park. On the flip-side, those looking for a slightly more reserved trail bike could opt for a 150mm fork up front, effectively steepening the head angle and shortening the wheelbase.
Linkage Tuned Suspension
The Force offers up 150mm rear suspension travel via Fox’s top-tier Float DPX2 3-Position Factory shock. GT’s Linkage Tuned Suspension (LTS) platform isolates braking forces from the action of the rear wheel and maintains a consistent shock leverage curve that is extremely predictable, yet progressive enough to run your favorite coil or air shock. The Trunnion upper shock mount reduces initial compression stiction by doing away with a traditional DU-bushing style upper shock mount and replacing it with sealed cartridge bearings. These are mounted directly to the top of the shock, doing away with the upper eyelet, and allowing GT’s engineers to fit a longer stroke shock to the Force’s chassis. This makes for a lower leverage rate, and higher performance suspension, providing buttery-smooth suspension feel as well as improved small bump compliance. The LTS platform is also incredibly easy to service for those home mechanics out there. No rocket science, no special tools, no proprietary components - just no-nonsense, reliable parts and bearings.
