The TR33 rim is NOBL's "Jack of all trades" rim, with a 27mm internal width that will provide a nice tire profile for most tires in the 2.1" - 2.6" range. The TR33 also features a balanced profile with a 23mm depth. This comparatively shallow depth, in conjunction with layup tweaks, means that it builds a rim that has some added compliance and will provide added control and ‘damping’ on rough trails. The sidewalls are lower profile which help reduce rock strikes in rocky terrain. While significantly stiffer than an alloy rim with equivalent measurements, it still manages to curb the harshness that has historically been associated with carbon wheels.
The ideal rider for this rim, is one that values a light and snappy wheelset and prefers to pedal all day, up and down the mountain. The TR33 rim is going to be right at home on bikes with 100-150mm of travel and there is very little the TR33 can’t do. Lighter riders (under 180lbs) may also find this to be a more comfortable option for their bigger (150-170mm) bike.
All of the 2017 NOBL rims have a new layup process, developed to make the rims stronger than ever. Every seam overlaps at a different position within the rim in a strategic position. The center channel now interlocks with the hookless lips through multiple layers to help distribute impact forces. An asymmetrical profile provides more even spoke tension, which leads to a stronger wheel overall.
All NOBL rims are backed by a 1-year manufacturer defect warranty, as well as a 2-year crash replacement / 50% off MSRP policy.
