The Rocky Mountain Altitude was designed in the deep, dank woods of Vancouver's North Shore. A mystical place known for steep, technical descents and even techier climbs, the riding there has helped define the sport of mountain biking. Coming from a place that has produced some of the world's fastest riders and the world's best mountain bikes, it's no wonder the new Altitude is one of the most capable bikes on the scene. Utilizing the same front and rear triangle as the Instinct, Rocky Mountain uses a shorter upper shock mount and a longer shock to pull 160mm out of their enduro-ready Altitude. Paired with a 170mm fork, this is a lightweight, root-smashing race-rig, one that will have you pushing harder and going faster than you thought possible. The active suspension design is born of gnarly North Shore trail, designed by and for riders who seek out gaps and jumps where others don't see them. Along with the Ride9 adjustability, the Altitude is a mountain bike that you can customize to your liking, so you can always get the most out of your ride.
The Ride 9 geometry adjustment design gives you the power to quickly make adjustments to your headtube angle, seat tube angle, bottom bracket height, and reach, all with a single bolt and five minutes of your time. A flip chip at the rear axle furthers your ability to tune the Altitude to your desired riding characteristics by lengthening or shortening your chainstay, making for a stable race rig or a snappier, more playful machine that manuals out of corners and dips around tight turns.
Beautifully implemented features like fully routed internal guides, full-coverage chainstay and downtube protection, and a replaceable upper shock mount that lets you run a mulleted wheel setup (or lets you swap shocks and turn your Altitude into the 140mm travel Instinct). Do you run your brakes moto-style? That's no problem here, with the cable routing set up to make that arrangement a breeze. And a UDH hanger future proofs your Altitude, so you can choose to run SRAM's new Transmission drivetrain.*
