Fox Racing Shox Transfer Factory Neo Dropper
FOX has pushed the innovation of dropper posts for well over a decade. The latest iteration of their Transfer dropper post rose again for model year 2025 with taller drop, improved durability, and more features than ever before.
The next stage in Transfer’s evolution—something riders have been asking for—was to make it wireless. Rather than match what other manufacturers are doing, FOX exceeded the current offerings by answering specific needs of riders:
Longer drop. Lower stack height. Greater tire clearance. Faster actuation. A natural lever feel.
FOX achieved these asks not only with a ground-up external design, but with the fastest wireless connectivity in cycling. This is Transfer Neo.
THE FASTEST. REALIZED.
Riders are seeking faster actuation of their dropper posts with minimal force to the lever,
allowing them to micro-adjust saddle height as needed on any terrain. To make Transfer Neo’s actuation feel instantaneous, FOX needed a signal to reach the dropper at a speed faster than any wireless protocol that was already in-market. For this reason, they made Neo.
Like a Formula 1 race car, Neo has all the non-essential functions of its wireless protocol
stripped away in favor of speed. How fast? Over 100x faster than Bluetooth and 20x faster than their closest competitor.
What does that mean on the bike? Virtually zero latency between actuating the dropper lever and your post moving to exactly where you want it.
RISE ABOVE WITH TRANSFER NEO
Neo opened the door to FOX creating the best wireless dropper post in the industry, but it needed to do more than what riders already expected – a cleaner cockpit, easy installation and a short lever throw. Every element of Transfer Neo was critically designed, tested and improved through their Racing Applications and Development (RAD) program:
- External design that reduces stack height
- Battery placement for increased tire clearance
- Lever design for the most ergonomic and natural feel
Coupled with the 2025 Transfer’s incredibly robust internal sealing and proven durability, Transfer Neo truly rises above.
STRATEGIC BATTERY PLACEMENT
In order to eliminate the tire clearance issues encountered by wireless droppers on certain frames, Transfer Neo’s battery and wireless controller are placed at the bottom of the exposed post, just above the seatpost clamp, instead of directly under the saddle.
In the worst-case scenario for tire clearance during a bottom out event, Transfer Neo can be run at full insertion. Wireless droppers with the battery/motor mounted under the saddle cannot, because doing so would result in contact between the rear tire
and the battery.
To achieve the ISO-recommended 6mm of clearance between tire and battery, other wireless dropper posts must be run as much as 18mm above full insertion. This position—combined with taller stack height—means your saddle height sits 40mm higher than Transfer Neo when fully compressed.
Riders on Transfer Neo have a bike that feels more maneuverable when riding downhill, with the added safety of the saddle getting out of the way on the steeps.
Rethinking the external packaging made it possible to produce a 200mm drop option in all diameters — giving taller riders the option of a long-travel dropper with a confidence-inspiring descending position.
ERGONOMIC LEVER
Transfer Neo’s lever was designed to be as familiar-feeling as possible. The rubber-coated thumb pad mimics the texture and distance from the handlebar of a regular Transfer lever, but with a shorter throw.
A shorter throw means the lever can be rotated further under the bar, avoiding lever contact with the rider’s thumb knuckle, while offering more ergonomic actuation. Haptic feedback from the lever ensures the rider senses when they’ve actuated their dropper post.
The sleek packaging of the Transfer Neo lever allows it to sit just 36mm below the handlebar, 10mm less than the competition. This means less chance of contact between the lever and the bike’s top tube. For reference, the center of the lever’s thumb pad sits just 27mm below the bar.
With its low profile, short throw, light action and easy-access battery port, this lever is one of the standout features of Transfer Neo, and a favorite of FOX staff riders and athletes.
APP OPTIMIZED
Transfer Neo is fully supported by the FOX Bike app. Riders can quicky access an overview of Transfer Neo components, download firmware updates and activate useful features like Bike Park Mode, Transport Mode, and monitor service interval tracking.
Bike Park Mode temporarily disables your Transfer Neo dropper lever, preventing accidental seat post extension when riding downhill trails. Bike park riders no longer need to flip their wireless dropper lever to the bar’s topside to avoid accidental
actuation. This mode can be quickly deactivated by rapidly pressing the lever four times, or via the app.
Transport Mode is designed to conserve battery power in Transfer Neo while your bike is in transit (e.g. long car rides). When this mode is activated, Transfer Neo will power
off automatically with its “Shake to Wake” functionality disabled. To deactivate Transport Mode, drop the rear of the bike from a few feet off the ground (allow it to bounce), or simply remove and reinsert the battery.
The Transfer Neo controller tracks and reports service intervals via the app. Previously, intervals were defined by ride hours. More accurately, Transfer Neo should be serviced once per 8,000 post actuations with app notifications when service is due. The app also displays service pricing and details, with the ability to create a service request or pinpoint nearby service locations.
