What's it like to work at Fantik?

Fanatik is unique in that we cater to a large market. Our local market, and our world-wide market online. Fanatikbike.com has taken off over the last few years, specializing in mountain bikes, components, and accessories. We build and ship lots of incredible mountain bikes all over the country, and it's darn fun to be around such amazing machines all the time! In addition to catering to the mountain market, our shop also embraces many other genres of bicycles, including youth, commuter, hybrid, and BMX. We love getting to know our customers, and greet them by their first names when they walk through our doors.

And of course, there are all the perks that come with working at Fanatik Bike Co. After three months, you'll be entitled to discounted employee pricing on everything we sell. Complete bikes can usually be purchased at extra-special employee rates. A number of other industry pro deals exist just for being part of the recreational community. Whistler Bike Park offers industry-rate Summer season passes for the gravity seekers. Full-time employees are eligible for medical insurance after a short period, and paid vacation/401k after one year.

  • Mechanic

    About the Job

    Working as a mechanic at Fanatik boasts a wide variety of tasks, ranging from building $10,000 custom mountain bikes, to building wheels, to rebuilding suspension, to fixing up garage klunkers. If wrenching on a variety of bikes is your cup of tea, then this will be a fulfilling job for you. Pay for this position is based off experience.

    Duties:

    • Basic maintenance and tune-ups on bikes of all types including mountain, road, cyclocross, etc.
    • Building custom high-end mountain bikes from brands such as Evil, Ibis, and Devinci

    Requirements:

    • Two years bike shop mechanic experience
    • Positive attitude and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Hardworking and dependable

    Bonus Skills:

    • Wheel building
    • Suspension rebuilds
    Full-time mechanic / 40 hours per week
