ENVE Composites M6 Mountain Handlebar
On a long day in the saddle, out on epic terrain, the only thing you want buzzing is your excitement, not your hands. The M6 Mountain Handlebar, from ENVE Composites, is an apt choice for extended journeys, as they provide excellent vibration damping for trail riding. These 31.8mm carbon bars are available in 7.5mm or 25mm rises to suit a variety of cockpit preferences and riding positions.
Even with more bars being made with a 35mm diameter, 31.8mm works well for the M6 as that measurement provides a compliant and responsive flex profile for trail use while minimizing weight. We all know that what goes down heroic singletrack must first climb some grinding terrain, so any grams we can save on the bike means even tastier trail beers.
The angles used to create each rise profile provide a wider array of hand positions as you roll the bar forward or back in the stem, and with a classic 9 degree backsweep and 5 degree upsweep, many riders will feel right at home on these bars.
The M6 comes in a max width of 780mm, and ENVE suggests that they be cut no shorter than 740mm. When the width is decreased, stiffness increases, and if these bars are cut too narrow, the ride quality will be compromised.
When you decide to add these bars to your cockpit, don’t fret about color-matching. All ENVE handlebars include a complete decal sheet to add swag to your steed. Pair that with a five-year warranty, and you’re outfitted for another epic season of peak bagging.
