Description

This wheelset features the a Fuse 29" front rim, paired with a 27.5" Triad, giving you the extra width/grip up front, and sure-footedness we've all come to love out of the We Are One rims. 

The Fuse is 33mm internal width; Triad is 30mm internal width, and both have the sturdy 4.5mm rim bead. Laced into these rims are the shop-favorite Hope Pro 5. You can easily swap front endcaps to pair this with a DH fork, and Hope makes any bearing or freehub body swaps a breeze. 

Convergence Difference

Engineered, tested, and backed by tangible data, the We Are One Convergence series doesn’t just look the part, it's designed to perform under immense pressure making it the best rim they have made to date. A shallower depth than the Union inherently makes the rim less stiff radially making sure you can charge as hard as you possibly can. We Are One continues to lay up their carbon rims with the highest-grade fibers available on the market. By combining new cutting-edge materials with their tried-and-true carbon fiber, they have increased the impact strength of the Convergence rims by 31% compared to the Union 29, meaning less failure and more riding. Just like the convergence of the North & South Thompson Rivers in Kamloops BC, the twisting geometric shape of the wheel creates a stronger structure & increased noise and vibration dampening.

Impact Strength
With an increased impact strength of 31% and only a 2% increase in weight compared to the Union 29 rim, the Convergence is the best rim We Are One has ever made. Taking their time diving deep into testing over 24 iterations, they came up with the perfect balance; a combination of weight, strength and ride feel. The addition of cutting-edge carbon materials to a tried-and-true carbon fiber was the undeniable best option to improve strength and allowed We Are One to cut out weight where it wasn’t needed. The use of new ZRT material in critical areas that take the most impact means you can ride harder and faster with more confidence than ever before.

Articulation
A major refinement that the Convergence lineup brings to the market is the improved interface between the rim and the spoke nipple. The nipple bed shape was completely redesigned to make the local surface perpendicular to the nipple itself. This gives you the absolute best-case interface between the rim and the nipple, as the entirety of the nipple loads the spoke hole versus just a single point. Improving the nipple articulation means that the rim rides significantly quieter and improves grip through rough sections of the trail. Because the spokes and nipples are less constrained, they can move and allow the rim to deform to match the trail. 

Radial Stiffness
The current Revolution line is well regarded for its balance of lateral and radial stiffness. With the Convergence, We Are One aimed to dial in their rim stiffness even further. Starting with the design, they dropped the overall depth of the rim to 18.5mm, which is their shallowest rim to date. Shallower rims are inherently less stiff than their taller counterparts. This was taken further in the laminate itself, by adjusting the layers of carbon fiber to create a rim that is 18% less stiff radially than the Union 29 (with the 30mm, specifically), while gaining a 5.92% increase in lateral stiffness. This will give riders a rim that rides even smoother over the trail while providing even more of that rocket ship feeling out of corners.
